Leung said the Hong Kong government has done its best to persuade protesters to leave the streets they are blockading. On Tuesday Hong Kong police started to clear the barricades erected by protesters in Causeway Bay, one of three major demonstration sites. The police said they will remove all remaining barriers in protest sites starting with the busy district of Mongkok and the central area. The head of Hong Kong’s Federation of Students said protesters will not leave any demonstration site despite the police actions.
