Japan, China agree on additional sanctions on North Korea

(VOVworld) – Japan and China have agreed to a new UN Security Council resolution aimed at imposing additional sanctions against North Korea in the wake of its nuclear test last week.

Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told the press, following a phone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, that Japan has asked China to respond constructively as a responsible permanent member of the UN Security Council to North Korea’s nuclear test.
Wang expressed China’s opposition to unilateral sanctions which cannot resolve Korea’s nuclear issues.
