Japan pledges more ODA support for Vietnam

At a meeting with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister Nakane Kazuyuki pledged more Japanese ODA funding for Vietnam

During meeting on Thursday, the Deputy Foreign Minister pledged more Japanese ODA funding for Vietnam to promote sustainable development, infrastructure, agriculture and urban development. He welcomed the ASEAN recent announcement expressing concern over upgrade if islands and reclamation in the East Sea, undermining trust, peace, peace, security and stability in the East Sea. He hailed the importance of peace, stability, security, safety and navigation freedom in the East Sea. All related parties must fully respect the Declaration on Conducts of Parties in the East Sea to build trust, refrain from activities, not use force or threat to use force while settling differences by peaceful means in line with international law, including the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, 1982.

He called for practical negotiation for an early Code of Conducts for Parties in the East Sea while immediately stop unilateral acts, imposition and use of force to change the status quo in the East Sea.
