Lao media covers President Tran Dai Quang’s upcoming visit

(VOVworld) – Laos’ major newspapers on Friday ran front-page articles regarding President Tran Dai Quang’s upcoming visit to the country. The 3-day visit will begin on Sunday at the invitation of Lao General Secretary and President, Bounnhang Volachith.

The Paxaxon newspaper, the organ of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, ran a biography on the revolutionary career of President Tran Dai Quang. According to the paper, the visit aims to strengthen the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The Vientiane Mai, the voice of Vientiane’s party and administration, reported that the visit takes place after both countries have successfully concluded their national party congresses and the elections of new leaders to their Parties, states, governments, and national assemblies. Vietnam and Laos have completed the elections of deputies to the national assemblies and people’s councils at all levels.

According to the Vientiane Times, the state visit by President Tran Dai Quang comes following the April visit to Vietnam by Laos’ General Secretary and President Bounnhang Volachith. This will be the first visit by Mr. Quang since he was elected as Vietnamese President.

The PathetLao newspaper reviewed outstanding cooperative achievements between the two countries. Annual meetings between the two Politburos and governments have been fully tapped based on mutual trust. Both countries have also boosted cooperation in economics, trade, and investment. The paper concluded that Mr. Quang’s future visit would be an important historical event and contribute to nurturing the bilateral traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation.
