Lunar New Year get-together with Overseas Vietnamese

(VOVworld) – A program called “Spring in the homeland 2013-Ancestral land shining” will take place on February 3rd or the 23rd day of the last lunar month in Hanoi’s Le Thai To square. Senior Party and State leaders and about 1,000 Overseas Vietnamese will attend the annual event for Overseas Vietnam who return home during Lunar New Year festival and to mark UNESCO recognition of Hung Kings worshiping ritual as a world intangible heritage.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Thanh Son said: “Every year, on this occasion, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs organizes this program for Overseas Vietnam all over the world. This year Hung Kings worshipping ritual was recognized by UNESCO as a world intangible heritage. This is an honor for the Vietnamese nation, including 4.5 million Overseas Vietnamese.”

The Spring program is jointly organized by State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Hanoi People’s Committee and Vietnam Television.
