Chaired by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, the meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday was part of the project to make Vietnam a law-governed socialist state by 2030, with an orientation to 2045.

Mr. Hue basically agreed with the proposals from now to 2030 to strengthen protection of the Constitution via the Ethnic Council, National Assembly Committees, the People's Courts, the People's Procuracy, the Government, the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and the people, in which the role of the National Assembly should be emphasized as the role of the highest representative body of the people and the highest State agency.

As there remain many competing opinions about the post-2030 period, Mr. Hue asked feasible measures considering Vietnam’s current situation.
