Neighbors call for immediate end to hostilities in Sudan

(VOVWORLD) - Participants of the Sudan neighboring countries summit held in Cairo, Egypt, issued a joint statement on Thursday calling for an immediate end to the current bloody conflict in Sudan.

The summit brought together countries like Egypt, Libya, Chad, along with representatives of the African Union. They urged the international community to take necessary support measures to help Sudan stabilize the situation, rebuild the country, and protect the lives of refugees.
“We are optimistic about the initiatives that Egypt and other countries put forward to end the conflict, repatriate the refugees who have fled abroad to avoid hostilities, and prevent rebel attacks on the capital Khartoum and other territories,” said Sudan's Foreign Minister, Ali Al Sadiq.
