(VOVWORLD) -More than 2.6 million Sudanese people have fled their homes, with more than 560,000 of them becoming international refugees since fighting broke out in Sudan in mid-April.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), more than 2.1 million Sudanese were internally displaced since April 15, including 1.4 million people who fled the capital Khartoum.
More than 560,000 people fled to neighbouring countries such as Egypt, Chad, and South Sudan. Humanitarian organizations reached more than 2.8 million people nationwide to supply them with food, nutrition, health, water, and protection services.
But humanitarian organizations say they are impeded in their work by insecurity and limiting access, including the lack of visas for international non-governmental organization personnel.
UN Office said that so far 13 humanitarian workers have been killed, many more injured, and some humanitarian personnel are missing. The office said it continues to facilitate the transportation of relief supplies from Port Sudan and across conflict lines.
