Nikki Haley announces run for president, challenging Trump
(VOVWORLD) -Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and Ambassador to the United Nations, announced her candidacy for President on Tuesday, becoming the first major challenger to former President Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination.

If successful, Ms Haley will become the first female Republican and the first Asian-American Republican to run for US President. Haley made history as the first Asian woman to become a US state governor and the first Indian to serve in the US cabinet.
