North Korea fires ballistic missiles into sea

(VOVWORLD) - North Korea on Saturday fired two projectiles presumed to be short-range ballistic missiles into the sea off its east coast, South Korea’s military said.

The projectiles were fired from North Pyongan province into the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea.

The same day, Japan’s coast guard said that North Korea appeared to have fired a missile which landed outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) waters. The Japanese government said the launch threatens Japan’s peace and security and violates the UN Security Council’s sanctions on Pyongyang over its weapons programs.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Friday guided an artillery fire, North Korea's Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
