PM chairs meeting of Red River Delta Coordinating Council

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, chairman of the Red River Delta Coordinating Council, chaired the first meeting of the Council on Thursday in Hanoi.

Participants  discussed a master plan for the region until 2030 period, with a vision to 2050,  focusing on industry, modern services and highly efficient, organic circular agriculture on the basis of strong application of science and technology.

Other topics included digital transformation, development and application of science and technology, innovation, and training of high-quality human resources.

Participants said the development of the Red River Delta consists of three major groups of orientations.

First, organize the regional development space in association with four economic corridors, four driving force zones, urban areas and growth poles, and two economic sub-regions.

Second, develop eight major fields with a focus on modern industry with competitive advantages of the region.

Third, ramp up regional infrastructure by developing inter-regional and intra-regional expressways, high-speed railways, seaports and airports.
