President hails overseas Vietnamese's contributions to Vietnam-US ties

(VOVWORLD) - President Vo Van Thuong and his wife visited a number of overseas Vietnamese in the US on Wednesday while he is in the US for the APEC Leaders' Week and bilateral activities.

President Thuong reiterates the Vietnamese Party and State’s acknowledgement of the contributions of Vietnamese people in the US and the Patriotic Overseas Vietnamese Association to the past struggles for national independence and the development of the Vietnam-US relations.
He expressed his hope that overseas Vietnamese, especially the second and the third generation of overseas Vietnamese, will continue to uphold patriotism, unite, comply with the law, and contribute to the development of the US, the Vietnam-US bilateral relations, and Vietnam’s national defense and development.
Earlier, President Thuong visited Stanford University’s hospital and medical center.
