(VOVworld)-Acting Chairman of Russian State Duma Melnikov Ivan Ivanovich has reaffirmed that Russia wants to foster relations with Vietnam, especially in legislation and supervising the implementation of signed agreements.

President Truong Tan Sang continues official visit to Russia

At a meeting with President Truong Tan Sang in Moscow on Saturday, Acting Chairman Melnikov said he believes that the Vietnamese President’s visit will mark a milestone in Russia-Vietnam traditional relations and their strategic partnership. President Sang asked Russia to help Vietnam improve the professional capacity of National Assembly deputies to meet the requirements of the nation's legislative activities. The exchange of delegations and coordination in the Inter-parliamentary Union and other regional forums has improved the effectiveness of legislative activities on both sides. They hoped that their legislative bodies will continue boosting cooperation in the international arena to ensure the validity and implementation of international treaties in which both sides are involved.

They also spoke highly of the Vietnam-Russia and Russia-Vietnam Parliamentarian Friendship Groups and committed to create the best conditions for them to continue strengthening bilateral ties.
