Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives new Indian Ambassador

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has expressed his belief that India’s newly-accredited Ambassador to Vietnam, Harish Parvathaneni, will work for stronger bilateral ties and peace and development in the region and the world.

At the reception on Tuesday, Prime Minister Phuc called for broader Vietnam-India cooperation to boost bilateral trade to 15 billion USD. He said Vietnam welcomes India’s Look East policy, of which Vietnam is one of the pillars.

Phuc said he is delighted at the upcoming visit to Vietnam by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted its importance as the two countries will celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2017 and requested thorough preparations for the trip.

Ambassador Parvathaneni said India always treasures its traditional friendship and strategic partnership with Vietnam. He suggested the two countries enhance cooperation in science, technology, finance, and notably IT and telecommunications.
