Nguyen Quoc Dung, Director of the Academy of Politics Region 4, said what concerns him the most is that the Party continues to reform its method of leadership and build a lean and mean political apparatus.

He said: “It’s urgent for the Party Central Committee to raise the issue of Party leadership method and streamlining political system. The current apparatus is very cumbersome, increasing the burden of the state budget.”

The public agreed with Party leader Trong’s views on reforming the public sector to create a breakthrough in service quality and ensure public benefits.

Mua A Vang, a National Assembly deputy for Dien Bien province, said: “Public agencies haven’t made any breakthroughs in recent years. Once they are allowed financial self-control, they can give up the habit of waiting for financial allocations. The strong agencies will survive, and this will create a more competitive environment among public agencies and better service quality.”

Enhancing defense, social security, and public health also drew comments from the public.
