(VOVWORLD) - Quang Ninh province has received 800 blood units and hopes to receive 5,500 units by September 30, when its summer blood donation campaign ends.

The campaign was launched by the Central Organizing Committee of the Red Journey program and the Quang Ninh provincial Steering Committee for voluntary blood donation.
Hoang Van Hai, Secretary of the Quang Ninh provincial Youth Union, insisted at the opening ceremony on Sunday that the program is spreading and creating good effects.
“In addition to Youth Union members taking the lead in blood donations, a large number of individuals and business communities are responding to the program, demonstrating the kindness and humanitarian spirit of the Vietnamese people,” said Hai.
22 outstanding volunteer blood donors have received certificates of merit this year.
