(VOVWORLD) - The United States’s delivery of heavy tanks to Ukraine is another blatant provocation, Russia's US ambassador Anatoly Antonov said on Wednesday.
The Biden administration could announce a decision to send more than 30 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine as soon as Wednesday, although it could take months for them to be delivered, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday, citing US officials.
Much of the US aid sent so far in the 11-month-old conflict has been through a separate program drawing on Pentagon stocks to get weapons more quickly to Ukraine. But even under that program, it would take months to get tanks to Ukraine and to get Ukrainian forces trained on them.
