(VOVworld) - Ukraine's state nuclear power company Energoatom and Russian state-owned fuel company TVEL have reached a supplementary deal on nuclear fuel for Ukraine until the end of 2016. Danko Biley, Energoatom's Security Director, said on Tuesday that Ukraine will extend its contract with the US’s Westinghouse Electric Company until 2020 to reduce Ukraine’s dependence on Russian fuel. Sergei Kirienko, head of Russian nuclear agency Rosatom, confirmed an agreement with Energoatom. He said, however, that this agreement lasts until the end of 2015 only and is part of a long-term agreement signed in 2010.
