Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev begins visit to Vietnam

(VOVworld) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Hanoi on Sunday for a three-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

In an interview with Russian News Agency Itar-Tass, Vietnamese PM Nguyen Tan Dung said the two sides will review recent bilateral cooperation and discuss ways to boost ties in politics, economics, trade, investment, energy, defense, and personnel training.

Newspapers in Vietnam have given wide coverage to Russian Prime Minister Medvedev’s visit to Vietnam. The Nhan Dan or People’s newspaper ran an article entitled “A new milestone in the Vietnam-Russia traditional friendly relations and comprehensive strategic partnership”, featuring the Russian Prime Minister’s visit to Vietnam, which aims to foster Vietnam-Russia cooperation in economics, trade, and investment. The People’s Army newspaper ran an editorial highlighting the visit which will strengthen the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.
