South Korea pushes for trilateral summit with Japan, China

(VOVworld) - South Korea will make an effort to hold a trilateral summit with China and Japan to rebuild trust in the East Asian region, which has been damaged by recent disputes among the 3 neighbors. South Korean President Park Geun-hye said Monday at the 7th World Policy Conference that a meeting of their foreign ministers will take place in the near future.

Park underscored that the establishment of a framework of trust and cooperation in the East Asian region is very important for the future peace and security of the whole world. She went on to say that it’s important for South Korea, China, and Japan to work together for multilateral cooperation, given their special role and status.
