Text message campaign to pay gratitude to Vietnamese martyrs

(VOVWORLD) -In anticipation of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), a text-message campaign titled “Gratitude to Martyrs” was launched on Saturday by the Vietnam Martyrs’ Family Support Association (VMFSA), Vietnam Red Cross Society, and National Humanitarian Portal 1400.

The campaign runs from Friday to August 20. The public can take part in the campaign by texting "TALS” to 1405. Each successfully-sent message is equal to a donation of nearly 1 USD to the Gratitude Fund.

Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, Chairman of VMFSA, said, "Every donation through text messages from citizens, cadres, and soldiers nationwide will be used effectively."

"There remain 53,000 unnamed martyrs, 18,000 of whom are somewhere on the battlefield, and many of their families are living in difficulties. This campaign will help pay our debt of gratitude."
