Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan encouraged environmentally friendly and clean planting techniques to boost exports: “I suggest the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development and Industry and Trade as well as scientists and coffee planting provinces to map out a plan to develop coffee as a national product. As an industry with nearly 1 million hectare of cultivation area and 1 million workers, it should ensure good performance and sustainability.”Vietnam exports more than 1 million tonnes of coffee beans each year to nearly 100 countries, ranking second among the world’s coffee exporters.
