(VOVworld)-Buon Ma Thuot city of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak has opened the 4^th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival. This year’s festival on the theme of “Buon Me Thuot coffee, integration and development” features various activities such as a Vietnamese coffee’s brands exhibition, a street festival, a coffee brewing contest and a contest to elect the Vietnamese coffee’s ambassador. Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan encouraged environmentally friendly and clean planting techniques to boost exports: “I suggest the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development and Industry and Trade as well as scientists and coffee planting provinces to map out a plan to develop coffee as a national product. As an industry with nearly 1 million hectare of cultivation area and 1 million workers, it should ensure good performance and sustainability.”Vietnam exports more than 1 million tonnes of coffee beans each year to nearly 100 countries, ranking second among the world’s coffee exporters.
