President Obama said the TPP will put the benefits of American workers first, as the TPP includes the strongest labor standards in history. Obama said if the US Congress does not approve this agreement, the employment of many Americans will be threatened. He stressed that the TPP will create a level playing field for US enterprises and that the TPP not only removes trade barriers which have caused great difficulties for small enterprises but also sets regulations protecting workers’ rights and benefits.

After the US Trade representative office published the text of the TPP, US Senate Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch said the Trade Promotion Authority Bill does not assure that the TPP agreement will be approved. He said approval may face hurdles in the US Congress.

Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee Kevin Brady expressed support for the TPP. He said he will persuade Republicans to learn more about the TPP because the agreement is beneficial to Americans.
