US marks 17th anniversary of September attack
(VOVWORLD) - Ceremonies were held across the US to mark the 17th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3 thousand people.

US President Donald Trump and his wife attended a memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where the heroes brought down United Airlines Flight 93 into an unpopulated field rather than the US capital.
A ceremony was held in the World Trade Center to commemorate victims of the incident. Thousands of people gathered in the Twin Towers to hear the victims’ names being honored.
The New York Stock Exchange had a moment of silence at 9:20. The municipal Fire Department held a ceremony to honor 343 firefighters who lost their lives in the incident.
