(VOVworld) – Venezuelan officials officially accused opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez of inciting violence, destroying public assets, and plotting violent demonstration against the government.
Chief prosecutor Luisa Ortega Diaz announced the charges against the head of the Popular Will party a day before the legal deadline to make the case for keeping Lopez in custody.  He strongly denounced anti-government protests incited by hostile forces to create social disorder and violate Venezuelan people’s rights. The Venezuelan government has 45 days to issue charges against or release Lopez after Lopez gave himself up on February 18.
