Vice President attends Thai king’s cremation ceremony

(VOVWORLD) - A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh on Thursday attended the royal cremation ceremony for Thailand's late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Bangkok.

Forty-two countries sent representatives to the ceremony.

Vice President Thinh and leaders of other countries laid wreaths to pay respect and tribute to the late King and witnessed royal and religious rituals at the ceremony. Mrs Thinh offered her deep sympathy to the Thai Royal family, Government and people and hoped they will overcome the pain to continue making the nation more prosperous and happy as late king Bhumibol Adulyadej wished.
King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who ruled the country for 70 years died at age 89 in October, 2016. Thailand spent a year-long period of mourning to commemorate his great contributions to the development of Thailand.
