Vietnam’s Government leader has affirmed that continuously consolidating the friendly and comprehensive cooperative ties with China is a consistent, long-term and strategic policy of the Vietnamese Party and Government. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the affirmation yesterday while meeting with Guo Shengkun, Secretary of the Guangxi province’s Party Committee and Ma Biao, Chairman of the Province after they attended the 9th ASEAN-China Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business-Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning. Mr. Dung called for both border provinces to strictly abide by directions set by senior leaders in enhancing economic, trade and investment cooperation to create favorable conditions for cross-border trade activities and increase traffic links among Vietnam’s localities and Guangxi. Mr. Dung said that both should boost exchange between citizens of the two countries. To continue cooperating and coordinating effective management of border areas, it is necessary to strictly follow the three documents relating to land border and the two agreements on Tonkin Gulf, with the objective of building the two countries’ border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
