(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Vietnam treasures its strategic cooperative partnership with South Korea and wants to expand delegation exchanges to strengthen political trust and deepen bilateral relations.

Mr. Phuc made the remark at a meeting with South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se in Hanoi on Monday. He said Vietnam will provide favorable conditions for South Korean businesses to expand their business here and is ready to work with South Korea to effectively implement their bilateral free trade agreement and boost trade to 70 billion USD, or even 100 billion USD, by 2020.
Mr. Phuc also highlighted the need to increase exchanges in culture, education, and tourism and prepare for the 25th anniversary of their diplomatic ties later this year.
Foreign Minister Yun applauded recent people-to-people exchanges, noting that Vietnam has the largest Korean community in Southeast Asia. South Korea wants to cooperate with Vietnam in defence and security and to tighten coordination on multilateral and global issues, Minister Yun said.
