Vietnam backs Cambodia's national development, says Party chief

(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has reiterated Vietnam’s support for Cambodia's national construction and development, saying Vietnam considers  the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance between the two States and peoples a valuable asset and a source of great strength for national liberation, construction and development of the two countries.

Meeting President of the Cambodian National Assembly Khuon Sudary in Hanoi on Friday, Party leader Trong said the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia is developing comprehensively and recording great achievements, contributing to maintaining political stability, ensuring national defense and security, developing socio-economy and elevating each country’s global position.

The General Secretary suggested that the two sides effectively implement the content of the meeting between the two countries' senior leaders and the meeting between the leaders of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. He emphasized that the two National Assemblies strengthen cooperation, share information and experience in law-making, coordinate in monitoring the implementation of treaties and agreements, and support each other at multilateral and inter-parliamentary forums.

Khuon Sudary expressed thank for the great and valuable assistance that Vietnam has given to Cambodia so far, saying that Cambodia will work with Vietnam to protect, preserve and cultivate their relationship.

She also informed of the results of the talks with National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, affirming that Cambodia will continue to coordinate closely with Vietnam to effectively implement the treaties and agreements reached by senior leaders of the two countries.
