(VOV) -The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has been very impressed by Vietnam’s active preparations for the 18th Asian Games.This was remarked by Vietnam Olympic Committee Deputy Chairman Hoang Vinh Giang following the OCA delegation’s fact-finding tour of Hanoi from October 5-7.
While staying in the capital city, the delegation, led by OCA Deputy Chairman Syed Arif Hassan, were received by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh.
Syed Arif Hassan said the master plan for development of sports complexes and traffic systems until 2020 has put Hanoi at an advantage in playing host to the regional event.
The OCA delegation has also inspected two other cities, Surabaya in Indonesia, and Dubai in the UAE.
It will compare notes on the three cities before announcing its final decision at its 31st plenary session in Macao, China, on November 8.
