During Friday’s reception for visiting Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Nishimura Yasutoshi, PM Chinh requested Japan’s assistance for Vietnam’s prioritized areas such as green transition, digital transformation, high-tech development, semiconductor, and biological technology.

He proposed that Japan consider simplifying visa procedures toward waiving visas for Vietnamese citizens to facilitate conditions for the 500,000 Vietnamese living, studying, and working in Japan.

Minister Nishimura said that Japan will boost cooperation with Vietnam, particularly technology transfer and human resource training. He noted that Japan will allocate resources to help Vietnam implement key projects, which symbolize bilateral ties, in important areas such as semiconductor chip manufacturing, AI, biological technology, and pharmaceuticals.
