Vietnam, Kazakhstan scheduled to sign ten cooperation agreements

(VOVWORLD) - The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is on an official visit to Vietnam from August 20-22 at the invitation of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.

This is the first visit of a Kazakh President to Vietnam in 12 years, and Tokayev’s first visit Vietnam in his new position.

President Tokayev will lay a wreath at the Monument for Heroes and Martyrs  and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi on Monday. After the official welcome ceremony at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will hold talks.

During his visit, the two countries are scheduled to sign 10 agreements, including an action plan to promote economic and trade cooperation and an agreement on visa exemption for citizens of the two countries. These agreements will support boost investment, tourism, cultural, and educational cooperation and people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
