Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat told New Zealand's Minister for Food Safety and Associate Minister for Primary Industries Jo Goodhew in Hanoi on Monday that Vietnam has paid special attention to ensuring food safety, considering it a key task of the sector this year and in the future.

Through a new cooperative program, Vietnam and New Zealand will share their experience in personnel training, develop an institution, and implement food safety criteria in the agricultural sector, using new models to supply safe food.

On this occasion, the two countries signed a plan of action on food safety and animal and plant quarantine, and a Food Safety Cooperation Arrangement.
