Vietnam praises IFRC's efforts in VN's humanitarian activities

(VOVworld) – The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) has made significant contributions to humanitarian activities in Vietnam. The President of Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Hai Duong was speaking at a working session of the IFRC in Hanoi on Friday. She added that Vietnam hoped the organization would further its coordinating role in humanitarian activities in Vietnam, and continue to provide Vietnam with technical and financial assistance in emergency aid relief and climate change adaptation.

IFRC Secretary General Bekele Geleta highly praised the Vietnam Red Cross Society’s coordination in implementing humanitarian activities. He pledged that IFRC would continue to support Vietnam in aiding victims of natural disasters, and climate change. To mark the occasion, Vietnam Red Cross presented Mr. Bekele Geleta with an insignia for his many contributions to Vietnam’s humanitarian activities.
