Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said at a working session with the Government Committee for Religious Affairs on Tuesday. The Prime Minister said the Party and State have introduced a large number of policies to meet religious organisations’ demands. He asked the committee to improve State management of religious affairs by making recommendations and involving itself in policy formulation relevant to the field. Dung also reminded the committee to pay more attention to staff training to ensure religious staff have firm political consciences, grasp Party guidelines and policies on religion, and respect them in practice: "We must assure legal framework for the people to practice their religions in line with the laws and meet their religious demands. Besides, it is necessary to stay vigilant against hostile force’s subversive schemes attempting to sow division and undermine national unity".

Prime Minister Dung asked the committee to continue to promote communication campaigns to make the world understand more about renovation and positive changes in Vietnam’s religious affairs.
