Vietnam supports for women’s participation to end sexual violence during conflicts

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam will work closely with the international community to prevent sexual violence during conflicts, said Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of the Vietnamese mission to the UN at a high-level dialogue held by the UN Security Council in New York on Tuesday.

Quy proposed that priority should be given to improving public awareness, eliminating social discrimination and prejudice against the victims, and enhancing support for the victims. He stressed Vietnam’s support for women’s participation in peace processes and their role in developing a culture of peace, spreading humanitarian values, and promoting sustainable development.
