(VOVworld) – Vietnam is likely to earn 2 billion USD per year from cassava export if it expands its market to the Europe and the US. Chairman of Vietnam Cassava Association Nguyen Van Lang says Vietnam is operating 100 standard cassava starch factories.

According to the association, 560,000 hectares of cassava yield 9.5 million tones per year, which will be provided to 5 ethanol plants to produce bio-fuel serving domestic consumption.Vietnam is currently the world’s 2^nd biggest exporter of cassava and cassava products after Thailand.
