Vietnam-Brazil trade hits record height

(VOVworld) - Two-way trade between Vietnam and Brazil this year has exceeded 2013’s figure, reaching 2.5 billion USD. Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry, and Foreign Trade reported a year-on-year increase of 36 percent. Vietnam’s exports to Brazil have totaled 1.3 billion USD and its imports have totaled 1.26 billion USD. Vietnam’s primary exports to Brazil are mobile phones, spare parts, footwear, frozen fish fillets, synthetic fibers, and electronic products. Vietnam’s main Brazilian imports are maize, soy beans and soy by-products, cotton, leather, and tobacco.

Brazil is Vietnam’s largest Latin American trade partner. Bilateral trade surpassed 2.3 billion USD in 2013, the first year Vietnam-Brazil trade broke the threshold of 2 billion USD.
