Vietnamese record given to twin separation surgery

(VOVWORLD) -The Vietnam Record Organization on Wednesday awarded Children's Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City the certificate of recognition to the "Complex surgery involving the largest number of medics in Vietnam.”

Badges were also given to 3 doctors of the successful surgery to separate 13-month-old twins, including: Doctor Truong Quang Dinh, Director of Children's Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City Minh, Doctor Phan Van Tiep, Department of Trauma-Orthopedics, and Dr. Ta Thuy Hang, Head of Surgery-Resuscitation Anesthesia Department.

On July 15, nearly 100 doctors and nurses from 10 leading hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City performed a historic surgery to separate the two baby girls conjoined at the pelvis. The separation surgery was completed  in 13 hours and 40 minutes, and the independent lives of Truc Nhi and Dieu Nhi have begun.
