Vietnam’s enterprises to meet international standards to integrate

(VOVworld) – 2014 Vietnam’s economy has shown many positive signs with the economic growth reached 5.8 %. Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc told VOV that many free trade agreements between Vietnam and its partners will be signed next year.

He expected that they will drive the economic innovation in Vietnam. Mr Loc said Vietnam will have a great opportunity to export its goods to some big markets including the US, the EU, Japan, South Korea, ASEAN countries, Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan: “Many Vietnam’s key exports including garments and textiles, footwear, and agricultural have great opportunity to penetrate big markets easily. Despite lower tariff barriers, technical barriers still challenge Vietnamese exports. We have to make sure that our exports meet all the requirements and standards of food safety and hygiene, and the origin criteria. Vietnam’s enterprises must apply international standards in production and transaction to boost exports in major markets.”
