On Monday, a representative of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry met a representative of the Chinese embassy in Hanoi to express Vietnam’s concern over China moving its oilrig to that location, which overlaps Vietnamese and Chinese continental shelves and has not been delineated. Vietnam requests China not to conduct drilling activities and withdraw its oilrig from that location. Vietnam reserves all its rights and legal interests in this area in line with international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
