World reacts to death of Fidel Castro

(VOVworld) - Following an announcement that Cuban leader Fidel Castro passed away on Friday at the age of 90, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani sent his condolences to the government and people of Cuba. President Rouhani said at a moment when Cuban people and other oppressed citizens around the world were suffering from violations of peace, justice,and freedom, Fidel Castro emerged as a prominent leader and kept fighting until his last days to keep the flag of justice flying high.

UK Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn hailed Fidel Castro as a "huge figure in our lives". Ken Livingstone, former Mayor of London and a member of the UK Labour Party, described Castro as an absolute giant of the 20th century.

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Saturday announced an 8-day national mourning to remember Fidel Castro, the Cuban revolutionary icon and a great friend of the Algerian people.
