Vietnam increases resilience to climate change: Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam has responded to natural disasters and climate change more efficiently by improving its forecast and warning capacity and increasing investment in construction works for production and daily life purposes.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung made the statement at a conference in Hanoi on Friday to mark International Day for Disaster Reduction, October 13th.

He said in the long-term Vietnam will apply measures and the experience it has learned from international partners, especially from countries who have similar issues.

Deputy Prime Minister Dung noted that Vietnam will prioritize financial resources for scientific and technological applications to improve the efficiency of natural disaster forecasts, management capacity of agencies at all levels, and local response on the ground.
