Last Saturday, thousands of people and tourists flocked to Tran Quoc Nghien coastal road, downtown Ha Long city, to watch the "Crossing the Sea Wave of Ha Long 2024” Festival.
This is the first time Ha Long City, in collaboration with the Ha Long Sailing Club and relevant agencies, organized a sailing, parasailing, and jet ski festival, aimed at turning it into an annual festival to promote tourism, Ha Long - Quang Ninh, and its land and people, to create new experiential tourism products for visitors, and to provide a playground for those who love adventure sports such as sailing, jet skiing, and paragliding.
About 50 vehicles, including sailboats, jet skis, and parasails from clubs inside and outside the province joined performances against the backdrop of the rocky islands on Ha Long Bay, wowing audiences.
A powered paragliding demonstration with national flags was performed by Sky Rider team, the leading professional paragliders in Vietnam.
The red color of the national flag stands out against the blue of the sky and Ha Long Bay rocks to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution, August 19, and the National Day, September 2.
The ‘Ha Long Bay – Vietnam’ team of white-sailed boats has gradually become familiar in Ha Long as it has participated in various festivals and tourism events. In addition to Quang Ninh, there are dozens of establishments nationwide to promote sailing practice and competition, thus promoting Vietnam’s sea tourism and introducing the image and sovereignty of Vietnam's sea and islands to international friends.
Professional athletes perform artistic jet skiing in formation, specially creating beautiful circles on the water.
The highlight of the festival was the appearance of dozens of jet boards which are surfboards equipped with engines providing propulsive force for the board, allowing participants to surf on the water without having to use the force of the waves.
Jet skiers wearing capes with national flags and LED lights glide across the water and glow as the sky darkens.
Locals and tourists seem excited about seeing the eye-catching performances for the first time.
Flares were lit by jet ski athletes on the bay in the middle of colorful ships.
The event ended with a live fireworks display from the jet ski.
The festival was the first in a series of events to be held under a project named "Ha Long – the City of Festivals” and the start of Ha Long’s cultural and tourism activities during the September 2 holiday.
