(VOVWORLD) - At a height of 3,046 m, Ky Quan San, also called Bach Moc Luong Tu, boasts one of Vietnam’s four highest peaks and is in the list of “must-visit” places for adventurers.
Ky Quan San Peak, at a height of 3,046 meters, is the fourth highest mountain in Vietnam, which is the natural border between Lai Chau and Lao Cai provinces. It is considered one of the most beautiful spots in Vietnam for cloud-hunting, as well as for catching the sunrise and sunset. |
The peak presents diverse terrain and challenging long slopes, requiring trekkers to be physically fit, with appropriate skills and careful preparation. |
The breathtaking scenery here is worth your effort to conquer this peak. |
Trekkers usually have to travel one day earlier to a rest area at Nui Muoi (Salt Mountain) at an altitude of 2,215 meters, where they can prepare before setting off early the next morning. |
Impacted by Typhoon Yagi, the already difficult mountain path has become even more challenging, with sections of eroded, barren slopes. |
After nearly four hours of travel from the Mang Ma Sao village to the Nui Muoi rest area, visitors can see a stunning sunset amid the clouds or catch the sunrise the next morning. |
According to experienced trekkers, if it rains the night before at Nui Muoi, there's a good chance of seeing a sea of clouds at the Ky Quan San peak the next morning. However, this also means dealing with foggy, wet, and slippery terrain. |
The fog and difficult terrain cause many groups to stop and set up camp to rest and wait for the mist to clear. |
Many trekkers even think of giving up their trip. |
But if you keep pushing forward, ascending through the clouds, an awe-inspiring sea of clouds awaits.
|
It’s an incredible feeling to watch clouds drift below your feet. |
However, it is advisable to return to the rest station before dark. Many trekkers leave the peak in the early afternoon. |
This is also a good time for trekkers to leisurely explore the area’s abundant plants. |
Visitors are immersed in the majestic forests of Vietnam’s northwest. |
This is certainly a challenging, exciting, and incredibly memorable journey. |
