Pham Kim Dung (C), deputy head of the Miss Vietnam 2020 pageant's organising board, joins the charity activity held with the winners of the pageant through the years.
The purpose of handing out the meals is to assist local people who have lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic and poor people from across the city.
The event starts on July 7, 2021, and is due to last for 10 days. Benefactors are expected to provide between 1,500 and 1,700 meals to underprivileged individuals each day.
Tieu Vy, Miss Vietnam 2018, says she is eager to take part in the charity to share difficulty local people, especially the poor, have experienced these days.
Phuong Anh, the first runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2020, expects nutritious meals will partly help the poor overcome the hard time.
The charity also sees the participation of Ngoc Thao, the second runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2020 who says she is willing to make a contribution to the COVID-19 fight.

Free meals are available for those in need at around 11:30 am and 5 pm every day.
Free meals are also provided at various isolation areas throughout the city.
