Island agencies and communities have already prepared food, sweets, flowers, and trees for the upcoming celebrations. Soldiers and islanders have also prepared enough food and fuel to help fishermen at sea.

Major Le Thanh Do, who is stationed on Song Tu Tay island in Truong Sa district, said that this atmosphere eases the homesickness of officers and soldiers during Tet. "I want to reassure our compatriots on the mainland that they can enjoy Tet happily because we are here steadfastly protecting the sovereignty of our country's seas and islands," Do said.

Nguyen Hai Ninh, Secretary of the Khanh Hoa provincial Party Committee, said the Truong Sa islanders have over the years made every effort to fulfill their political tasks and protect the sea and islands and the territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

Ninh said, "Tet celebrations have been thoroughly prepared. We never let our guard down to protect Vietnam’s sea and island sovereignty. We feel reassured and grateful that officers, soldiers, and residents of remote islands have taken the initiative to create a warm and meaningful Spring atmosphere."
