(VOVworld) – Australia’s new Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull announced his new cabinet on Sunday. Mr. Turnbull named five females to the cabinet, more than any of his predecessors.

Social Services Minister Scott Morrison will replace Joe Hockey to take over the Treasury portfolio. Marise Payne will become Australia’s first female defense minister, replacing the conservative Kevin Andrews. Education Minister Christopher Pyne was appointed Minister of Industry, Innovation, and Science. Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, Infrastructure Minister Warren Truss, Environment Minister Greg Hunt, and Health Minister Sussan Ley will remain in their current positions.
