(VOVworld) – The Vietnam-US bilateral relations have positively developed. Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh made the remark at Monday reception in Hanoi for Evan Medeiros , an emissary of the US President.

Vietnam and US have established the comprehensive strategic relations while the bilateral defense cooperation has seen fresh developments in personnel training, experience sharing in humanitarian aid, disaster response, and navigation security and safety. Medeiros agreed that both sides need to increase the exchange of information and high-ranking military delegations and effectively carry out the signed memorandum of understanding on bilateral defence. The two officials also agreed to accelerate the settlement of the aftermath of war in Vietnam.
