(VOVWORLD) - Israel announced on Saturday it was closing its goods and people crossings with the Gaza Strip as well as the offshore fishing zones in response to the recent rocket fire.
A unit under Israel’s Defense Ministry will monitor the closing until any new announcement.
About 100 rockets were fired on Saturday from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, reported by China’s news agency Xinhua. In response, tanks of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) targeted Hamas military posts and launched airstrikes on rocket firing positions in the southern Gaza Strip.
